| About Carlana |
A beautiful, successful and privileged seventeen-year-old, Carlana Stone Lawson had it all: she was a gymnast, cheerleader and president of her class. In a moment of bad judgment, she got into a car with some friends in Dallas, Texas, after a night of drinking. A terrible accident occurred, and everyone walked away unscathed except for Carlana, who never walked again..

My First Blog
I am a paraplegic. When I was 17, I got into a car with a group of friends. The driver was drunk and we crashed. Everyone but me walked away. My life has been different ever since. I wrote a book. Never Give In, Never Give Up truly reflects the person I have become, but I didn't get to be where I am overnight. I was Miami's first on-air reporter in a chair. I survived an abusive relationship. I live in LA, but I will always be a Southern girl true to my Louisiana roots. I never slow down. I have learned to sky-dive, ski and even fly! I believe in stem cell research and love discussing it with anyone, any time, anywhere. I recently married the love of my life, and I have never been happier! I am a Hollywood TV producer. I have learned that our responses to obstacles define who we are. I went through some hard times, but I got past them, picked myself up, and went on to live my life with more passion than ever before. I believe that by sharing I can help others. I hope to share my life experiences with y'all and just maybe, help someone else make opportunities out of adversity.
I am Carlana Stone Lawson. This is my blog.

Hi Carlana,
I came across your blog by accident. I am really glad I did. My 7 year old son has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and will be in a wheelchair eventually. Your book sounds very positive and I think it will be helpful. Will you ever be in Arizona for a book signing? I would love to meet you. Thank you.

Carlana:
Read the book! It's a MUST READ!!! I cried like a baby during your struggles, and reveled in your victories! I am so happy for you! I work with women who have been beaten down by world (drugs, husbands, and life in general). I've been recommending "Never Give In..." to EVERYONE!!!
I wish you the best in all of your endeavors!

Congratulations on your first blog!
Lauri,
Thank you for taking the time to comment. I hope that the site and book provide you with some inspiration. We are all indestructible. Who knows, maybe I’ll be able to teach your son a few tricks in the chair… or to fly… Unfortunately I don’t have any book signings scheduled for Arizona at the time, but keep checking the Events Calendar section of the website, you never know where I’ll end up!
Wishing you the best of luck,
Carlana
Holy cow, Shelli Sakovich! It sounds like you’re doing some challenging yet rewarding work… It was great running into all the old SVA girls at the Revel. Thanks you for supporting the realization of a dream. Keep spreading the word! We should talk soon…
Love,
Carlana
Thank you 'dod'!
